Are all Designated Activities Visa holders allowed to work?:

Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan is taking place now, and many foreign visitors have come. It seems that some of them wish to live in Japan after visiting the Expo and try to change their status. Some even apply for asylum although Japan hardly ever accepts asylum.

What I heard on a certain medium this morning made me skeptical. Asylum applicants could receive a Designated Activities Visa, and  that medium said Designated Activities Visa holders are allowed to work in Japan.

It is not wrong at all, but not every holder of this visa is allowed to work. Some holders of this visa are not allowed to work.

Asylums are seldom accepted in Japan. If a person wishes to apply for it, the reason must be strong such as political persecution by which the applicant will be murdered once the applicant goes back to his own country. This must not be exploited by people who only like  Japan and wish to live here for the rest of their life.
