A little unusual task accomplished:

When a visa application agent handles a student visa, it usually is changing student to working. But a gentleman hired me for the opposite task. He held a certain working visa but decided to go to a Japanese language school and consequently had to change to student.

The Immigration Bureau shows a list of necessary documents, but I was not quite certain whether everything this gentleman provided me prior to the application was sufficient. As a matter of fact, the Immigration Bureau told me to submit yet more after filing the application.

The key was proving that the applicant has sufficient assets to attend the school without working full-time. If the applicant needs to make some money after the school starts, it is possible to apply for permission for activities other than that under the current status which is student, but this gentleman was not willing to work at all.

Fortunately, the Immigration Bureau let me know specifically what they needed. The gentleman sent me an Excel file of his bank transaction record. He has raised a sufficient amount of money to go to school and live in Japan legally without working part-time. I divided his assets by 24 after subtracting the tuition since he was planning to go to the school for 2 years. Then I checked his monthly spending and saw whether the quotient of his assets was more than his monthly spending.  Fortunately, that quotient was above his monthly spendings, and that persuaded the Immigration Bureau. His visa was issued.

It was a rather unusual task. I am glad I could help him with this somehow.
