If you apply for change of your visa, for example, from Engineer/Specialist in Humanities/International Services Visa to a Dependent Visa by actually filing your application at the Immigration Bureau, you might wonder whether you can come back to Japan once you leave Japan after applying for the change of your visa, but your application is not approved yet.
For example, if your visa is approved while you are out of Japan, you may come back to Japan as an Engineer/Specialist in Humanities/International Services Visa holder if that visa still is valid. You can receive the new residence card after that.
The application acceptance slip shows when you should obtain the new residence card, but you can still obtain the new residence card even after the dates specified on that slip. Rest assured.
